Please help me decide - Longthorns Farm or Wowo

Both have availability for when I want and both allow campfires. Both have good reviews on UK campsite so I am struggling to make up my mind .

I thought the showers at Wowo were not up to much. It was a rainy week-end and I expexted floor to be muddy but there were stains on tiles and shower curtains that was longterm dirty.

Kids liked it though.

We went to Longthorns earlier this year and stayed in the tipis! It was fab. Great site and lovely owners - would recommend.

We stayed at Wowo a couple of weeks ago and really liked it. Facilities are pretty basic though.

I have just come back from 5 nights at Longthorns

It was extreamly lovely BUT (and its quite a big but) the 2 loo's flushing loo's are Uni sex and smell of boys toilets wee. Of the 2, one was blocked nearly all the time, the other some of the time (when some person tried to flush a whole entire loo roll WHY?)
they were cleaned and stocked daily though.

The composting loo's smelt 10 times worse (seriously unpleasant)

As for the showers so long as you are the only person on the whole site using the showers they are hot, other wise alternate between boiling / freezing.
Not to mention the fact that there is no where private to get dressed which wouldnt matter so much if the door didnt open right infront of the showers, so as soon as the door is open anyone walking past can see you. Not quite so bad for the men, though any girls going into their block can look through the window to view them naked too!

Other wise longthorns is simply idealiic and the owners are lovely. The honesty shop and communal fridge freezer are just great and the whole armosphere has the most pleasant happy and relaxed atmosphere.

Sounds like the facilities at Longthorns are even more basic than Wowo. Wowo had at least 5 female loos and 5 male, and three showers each.

I'm going to have another look at Wowo. Not so bothered about showers as we are only going for two nights but there is no way I can cope with toilets smelling of wee [ugh emoticon].

The loos in the main block at Wowo were fine. They did have stinky compost loos too in the fields but I avoided them.
