Long time no chat here, although I still see sallyStrawberry is still camping :-)

Just had a lovely weekend away camping with friends and family and now I want to go again.
OH can't take anymore time off but I still have almost three weeks at home with the kids.
I'm tempted to go by myself with the kids but I'm not sure I would be able to put our Vango Colorado 600 DLX by myself or that I'd get a site.

Any ideas?

Hello Fennel!!! Yes, it's me. I haven't been on here for the best part of two years I'd say.

I thought of you last week, Dh and I spent a few days in Exeter city while Grandma had the children.

Sorry I didn't keep in touch. I wasn't very happy a while back, not in a good place atall. II cut down to three days in September last year and then decided to take VR in April, a vvery good move for me.

I think I'm ready to go back to work now. Is that what school holidays does to you? Although the last 5 months have been lovely.

Just wondering where I can go camping at such a busy time of year...

How's you?

We are fine, I thought of you recently too when I went through your town on the train. that sounds probably a good thing about the VR, you were out of the house long hours weren't you? I keep turning down options of better jobs that are long hours/commutes, I am getting far too used to having time off with the dds (and it's getting pleasanter as they get a bit bigger).

We are going camping on Wed for two weeks in Brittany, I am quite excited, the campsites look great.

Lots of good campsites around here which don't get busy even in August. If you stay away from the large ones with lots of facilities.

I'm like you. I'm liking spending time with the children as they get older.
We were walking through the woods in the sunshine this afternoon looking at acorns, tasting blackberries and looking at the pretty flowers. It was lovely.

I hope you have a lovely holiday - I'd be excited too :-)

I've diverted your thread from the main question. but it's nice to "see" you again.

How about a smaller tent for short trips or trips without DH? We have big and small tents, depending on whether we are going for several days or more, or backpacking or just overnight, and the little ones are very quick and easy to put up and down, also unbelievably cheap these days.

Come to the Forest of Dean at the weekend with the rest of us and we'll help with your tent

Do you know ladies that is a very tempting idea. The Forest of Dean is not so far away from me.

What do I need to do?
