Eurocamp tent holiday - list of essentials to be taken???

OK - we are off to Camping Bel in the Vendee with Eurocamp in a few weeks and I wondered if there were any must-take items that your experiences can recommend?

Have come up with:

washing up liquid
washing line and bag of pegs
small box of toddler toys
small radio
duvets???? bedding for a toddler - Grobag or duvet?
beach gear and suncreams
string bag for laundry (although hoping to rinse through and not do any launderetting)

I know you're given all the kitchen stuff (corkscrew, etc.!) so any hints....?

torch?

Mostly marking the thread because I need to know this myself - would never have thought of washing line. How are you going to string it up?

Between tree braches and/or tent?! Remember my mum doing that kind of thing when we Eurocamped. Also just found:

bin bags
kitchen roll
first aid kit
kitchen roll
tinned food
dustpan and brush to keep tent clean?

yes duvets, also sheets & pillowcases if you're not hiring them
have you booked free 'toddler pack' of cot / highchair / potty / change mat etc? if not do so asap or the minute you arrive.
towels
teatowels (many)
bathmat to use as doormat (we use hand towels from the pound shop)
decent knives (theirs are never as good as the home ones) and chopping board
we take extra chairs so aren't forever moving the patio chairs in & out of tent
a few laundry tablets in case you have to laundrette
green soap for handwashing clothes
hand soap for washing hands (iyswim)
trike / scooter or similar to get toddler round site if not pushchairing. Or as well as. Consult said toddler
food basics eg coffee / tea / sugar / salt / pepper / oil / cornflakes/pasta/butter - every time we go to the hypermarché we end up spending a fortune so we aim to take enough food for a couple of days and use it all before shopping.

rainy day emergency surprises for toddler (new story books, puzzles, aquadraw, comics, those 'magic' water painting books etc - not necc expensive but must be novel)
multiple sunhats for all of you - much easier to persuade toddler to wear his if you and DH are wearing yours

they give you a dustpan and brush, also broom, mop & bucket

get one for toddler too
beachball
plastic crockery / cutlery / sippy cups / bibs as appropriate for ds
swimming stuff (for you & dh too) NB do not believe the hype re 'men must wear speedos in the pool' - no campsites enforce it, only municipal leisure centre type places.
flash wipes (or simialr) for cleaning

I'd been told we wouldn't need duvets as it's fairly hot in the nights... hope so cos we're flying so no way are we putting duvets in the luggage. (Nor a trike, come to that.)

go to the hypermarché immediatment

we drive, hence the long long lists!

I'm scratching pretty much everything except underwear and swimsuits, believe me

I do like a good torch though.

Can I ask: what does one do about late-evening reading? I'm hoping to finally get through a few meaty novels. Do you take lamps (I think there's a power socket in the tent), or are there battery-operated lanterns you can get, or do you just read with a torch or wot?

we take a (big heavy) battery lantern, but dh has an LED head torch which is small, light, bright and not too battery-hungry

if there's a socket I'd take a 99p Ikea clip-on light or similar

Thank you. We're actually Canvas-ing (as opposed to EC-ing) and it turns out that all Canvas tents have electric lights throughout so I won't panic about lanterns and the like (although might take a couple of candle lanterns for prettiness).

with citronella nightlights in them to keep the flies off (buy in hypermarche)

keycamp had electric lights in living area but not sleeping areas. USed my torch.
Was so cosy.Loved our holiday last year, apart from the rain!

barbecues - although there is a barbie space there are no rods to put the food on we had to buy a sort of handheld barbecue device from the camp shop for about 10 euros, still have it and will make sure I take it next tiem I go, but cant think of a name for it.
