I am thinking of booking a tipi on a campsite on the Isle of Wight - any experiences of this?

No, but I have done yurt holidays, think it is similar, with a wood burner and real bed inside, outside camp kitchen, outside fire pit, compost toilet.

Absolutely loved it. Been twice, in Sept and again in May. WIll do it again too. Just great so be so close to the wild without sleeping on an air mattress!

We stayed in a tipi on a camp/caravan site in N Wales last year~ it was lovely, futons inside, sheepskins,a full upright gas cooker as well as the campfire in the middle[which we didn't light as it was stormy].Everything was provided including a very large coolbox.

The weather was really bad last whitsun and the tipi let in a bit of rain which ran down the poles and was a bit creaky in the strong winds.

You can stand up fully in them, very luxurious!
