For the first time, I will shortly be going to a small rural but popular campsite and am curious about what awaits me.
Mainly, I am wondering how clean they are, as in, the actual fields where you pitch your tent. On one level, I like the idea of the rustic idyll, where you arrive, pour the kids out of the car and pitch up a tent on fresh, slightly trodden grass/ground. But even if the previous tenants have cleared up their rubbish, but sometimes people don't consider cigarette butts rubbish, so...
I have a bit of a wierd thing, bordering on a phobia, about cigarette butts. That is going to make me sound mad, but there you go. I have always had it. It makes going to a busy beach for example, nigh impossible. Walking to school via local pubs is now a bit of a gag fest. I don't have a thing about smokers at all, honestly. It's just a butt thing.
I don't know why I am this way. Point and laugh if you like, I would point and laugh at myself too if I didn't find it so bloody tiresome. But it is an issue, and I thought I would sound you clever campers out about it.
