Anyone been to Rukins Campsite in Swaledale, North Yorks??

It looks absolutely gorgeous - river for paddling, hills, waterfalls, big fields, campfires allowed and cheap so ticks all our boxes!

Only slightly put off by the fact that there is only one shower for the whole site and 3 toilets ('one male, one female and one either' it says in the book!!)

So has anyone been?? Is it as fabulous as it looks? Is the toliet / shower thing manageable or a complete nightmare??

We hoping to go in August for weekend after good reviews on UKCS but they don't take bookings so need to be there early!

Oooh like the sound of that! I am just having wobbles at the moment about anywhere near rivers as we had such a problem with midges this weekend

Hadn't thought about the river / midges scenario, fatzak...... We might be better camping in the field away from the river rather than on the river bank - don't want to be eaten alive - also a bit worried about ds3 - only two and has a tendancy to 'do a runner' - might not be good next to the river..... Oh the joys of camping
