Camping

how many of you have dhs or dps who are basically a bit useless and non-practical so you end off running the whole tent/food/packing/unpacking shebang all by yourself?

I do the lot

Half term, i got tent, two kids, bike and dogs up to north norfolk.
Set up camp so Dh could arrive after work with it all done.

I do all driving , all DIY, all bills, planning even bought house and moved all myself.

In the begining i thought he was being so generous by letting me drive(dad and brothers always hogged the car)
Slowly realised he does nothing, but does horrible commute every day so i can do the rest how i like, when i like and what i like....and beautiful kids.

Oh dear aitch, you need a whole new mindset!

I do everything but I still LOVE camping - it is the excitement of getting out the camping stuff, choosing a site, deciding what to cook when we're there etc.

I think you just have to find camping exciting in itself to rejoice in the role of Camping Commander. Maybe get some camping books (like Cool Camping or The Happy Campers) and lose yourself in a world of camping fantasy.

Aitch men who do all the camping stuff are usually insufferable, have you not seen 'Nuts in May'? They are ex-scouts, they wear stiff khaki shorts with creases, they run their camp with military precision (or was that just the guy next to us last year?)

No matter, embrace your inner camp-goddess, or something, read this book, it's brilliant.

Yes I've got one of those too

I plan, book and pack evrything, then I have to lead tent erection (although he can bash pegs in) - this is after having the same tent for 7 years. Then I do all the cooking.

And then people wonder why I leave him to supervise the children on the beach

Manor farm, west runton, its great.

Defo not ocd thing. I love camping as I can get away with no washing, no cleaning and wallow in mud and grub.

I am the packer and the organiser. We put the tent up together. Then dh is washer-upper and I am cook and tidier. Putting it away dh always does the tent folding. I get cross and try to scrunch it into a ball. He is a more patient person.
