Anyone explain the difference for me?

I need to decide which of these to buy and it looks like the second one has better support.
I thought those who understand rucksacks would be able to help!

Koala

Possum

I'm not an expert but the look exactly the same!! The koala is cheaper!!

That was my problem! They look the same!
Some of the specifications are different and I want to know how much difference it would make.

Well, the possum is heavier, but also has a larger capacity if you are intending to carry a lot of gear about with you.

Apart form that, they are much of a muchness, I doubt it will make much difference which one you get.

Are the shoulder straps much different though? It says they are different systems.

wastingmyeducation, thanks to your links I have just spent a ridiculous amount of money on that website, but what a great website it is!

I can't find any mention of different shoulder straps. TBH I think they will both be fine.

wastingmyeducation · 08/05/2009 13:14

It's fab isn't it?

I need to decide today!

go for the lighter one then.

We have a Possum; I think the only real difference is the extra pocket on the Possum which means you can carry more with you. So if you are doing the sort of walking where you'd normally have a small rucksack and carry a lot with you I'd go for the Possum (that was our reasoning, anyway) but otherwise go for the Koala. I don't think there's a difference in the shoulder straps.

One last bump for the evening crowd before I order!

PAL - There doesn't look much difference in the straps, but the descriptions make it sound like there might be.

We don't do proper rambling or anything, so I think the Koala's storage capacity will be fine. There will nearly always be two of us there anyway if we need anymore luggage carrying.

I have ordered the Koala.
