Vango weekender package - good or bad?

Looks good, we've got an Orchy 600 and separate tarp to cook/shelter under, wouldn't like to cook in your canopy in inclement weather, I'm a bit of a wuss like that, don't want the whole thing to go up in flames! Also I personally wouldn't be bothered about the carpet as they tend to be too big to clean/wash properly, we just have picnic rugs. Anybody else??

I have bitten the bullet and ordered one, they told me on the phone that the HH was 3000 and that the canopy will also fit my Diablo(not like it needs extending, but it's nice to have the option).

If I don't get on with the carpet I will just sell it on Ebay.

Hi Flame - will you let me know if it has mesh over the door like the Icarus? Must admit I am seriously tempted too as it looks like a bargain for all that!

vango are fantastic - top class tents.

It's due tomorrow so I will have a nosey at it when I get home and will let you know about the door.

Thanks flame but I couldn't wait. I telephoned them this morning and they said it was the Icarus tent. They just couldn't say that it was in the advert because of the colour - as it's exclusive to them. You can't buy the Icarus in that colour.

So yes, if anyone else is interested, it does have mesh!
I have ordered one too.

It has a better HH than the "Icarus" as the original is only 2000 according to the Vango website.
The carpet and footprint are labelled as Vango Icarus.
Waiting for the kids to goto bed before I have a good look at it.

Did you order it yesterday? and it came today. WOW.

I paid for next day delivery as I wanted to make sure I had it for tomorrow for the Bank holiday camping.

It was good thanks, I liked having the kids next to us as opposed to over the other side of the tent.
It took us longer than 10 minutes to put up but it was the first time and we had to untie everything etc.

It was spacious enough for the 4 of us for the weekend but I wouldn't take it for a week.

The canopy was great for cooking as I wouldn't have used the cooker in the tent.

The front door was a bit of a pain as the SIG wasn't tight along the doorway so when the door was shut it did flap about in the wind. I was going to put some velcro on it next time. The side door was fine, no probs at all.

There are loads of little storage pockets which was great. I didn't come with the king poles that it said were included, so I have emailed them and they are going to send them out.

I have never used a tunnel tent before and the wind hitting it head on was a bit strange, the front pole was bending back but it didn't snap! And i'm not sure how the TBS works.

Apart from that I was pleased with it and I did like my carpet

Has yours arrived yet? When you taking it on a test run?

Yes ours has come - can't wait to try it out! Will probably be whitsun week now. Thanks for the tip off about the front door, will have to try to get some velcro for that too.
