any suggestions for lovely north devon campsites? maybe that allow camp fires, maybe in a farm setting, away from noisy roads, not too far from a beach...

thanks

Clud Farm in the Doone Valley on Exmoore does campsite with campfire by river. V.v. beautiful setting but not really nr. beach - prob. good 20 min. drive. North Morte Farm overlooks Rockham Bay - v. nice setting, v. nr. beach and Woolacoombe/croyde beaches but q. exposed if weather bad. another one nr. mortehoe is warcombe farm. good with v. young kids as there's a family bathroom feat. a bath !!, nice showers and adventre playground bit. still on headland with nice seaviews but less exposed than North Morte. there's one - forget name- in cool camping bk. - Little something or toher - near watermouth Castle. Great views but facilities for showering were few so lotsof queues. croyde campsites have great views but i hear they can be noisy at night because they tend to attract a yyounger surfie crowd so not such family style campsites. Cloud Farm is only north devon one i know with campfire alowance. I really like the mortehoe area - great beaches and Mortehoe lovely. For a longer break I'd head there and do Cloud Farm for long w/e. HTH.

I've not stayed there, but this one was in today's travel press, with rave reviews:

It is a big site but Stowford Farm Park is very nice.
