Is it easy? Do I need lessons or is it fairly easy to get the hang of it??

I've done it..you tend not to notice it after a bit...dh did all the backing it up and stuff though.

Do you remeber when you used to be able to go to a supermarket carpark on a Sunday to practice driving before you had a prov. license

The caravan is light and apparently you can steer it into position manually. Just debating to go on a course or not but it's 90 quid.

Nah don't bother...it's easy.

Have you got a stabiliser bar?

Berrie · 24/04/2009 20:13

That makes things better.

What is a stabiliser bar??

here
It sort of goes from your tow bar to the towing part of the caravan...it stops bounce and makes everything more...stable!

better one

Berrie · 24/04/2009 20:21

You'd be much better spending your money on that but pick it up second hand if you can. Bet there are loads on e-bay.

hercules1 · 24/04/2009 20:24

Thankyou. That's helpful! How will I know which one will go with my car and caravan?

I'd go to a caravan place if you've got one near you. You could ask there then get your own. Otherwise find a caravan owners group online and ask on there. I would think that they are pretty universal but I don't know.
