Which club to join?

Which one do you think is best Caravan Club or Camping and Caravan.

I have a camping van (small but heavy prefer hardstanding) , and will mostly be using sites in scotland.

Like the idea of CL sites, but the only one I stayed on we ended up parked outside the farmers front door, not quite the idea I had of staying on a quite site. Plus I like EHU

Was a memebrof Caravan club but never got the use of it, facied a cheeky weekend away in may.

WE're in both. (not being smug, you understand, just in a position to comment & compare )

What sort of sites do you like best - is it the CL's / in the sticks sort?

My current leaning is C&CC, because their availability seems to be better atm - possibly because you have to pay when booking. The caravan club have lovely club sites but are less predictable when it comes to listed sites; I think the c&cc is more consistent - but that could be just down to the sites we have visited. The other thing is that a 'standard' pitch on camping and caravanning comes as "bog standard" with no electric; all caravan club 'standard' pitches have electric hook up. Now that confused the hell out of me last year til i figured out that I had to remember the difference!!

I don't need all singing all dancing sites, but a hook up and a shower block would be my minimum.

I managed last year to book one of the few full caravan club sites with no loos. Sent DS off to find them as he needed no2 but he kept coming back I didn't believe him but n he had to do it in our porta potti that is def for no1 only .

We also insist on loo and shower as bare minimum - well with three dc you have to do these things. TBH they are much of a muchness, but I'm mighty sick of the caravan club and their shitty booking system atm. OK so you don't pay when you book (bonus) but you have to book any school-hols and defo bank hols you want in the first week in Jan or you simply don't get in. PITA. Thus some of the reason for my pref for the C&CC

Got a cravan and was just about to join caravan club. But after reading this this I will go for the other now!

what is the booking system with CCC

CCC is internet booking for most sites, not all

Wold say I quite like them, but as tenter cannot compare to caravan lot
