I've reserved this site, but don't know much about it. We've been to the same area - near Benodet, and with Canvas before, but don't know this site.

Anyone been?

We've been, but it was the first week of September so it was very quiet.

We loved it. It was our first experience of camping in France. The pool was lovely and clean, lots of slides and nice areas for toddlers. It had a small bar and cafe/takeaway which was fine - no idea about entertainment as there wasn't any on when we were there!

The shop was virtually closing as it was the last season but I imagine it would have stocked the essentials. It wasn't far to drive to the nearest Super-U though.

If you have a look at the Matthews Holidays site they have a forum where people talk about the various sites. It was about 3 years ago so would hate to say it was great if it's changed in that time! But we'd go back, probably mostly because we loved the area but IMO absolutely nothing wrong with the site.

thanks surfermum. Good to hear that. I've hada look at some reviews and the main concerns seemed to be that the pool water was cold, and the pitches were a bit cramped. I do prefer a warm pool. Did you use the nearby beach?

I think that is fair summary of the downsides! There were plenty of good points though and we had a good stay.

I remember it being a bit cold, but it didn't seem to bother dd or dsd.

Our pitch was good as we were on the outskirts of the camp, but also had no neighbours! We didn't spend much time there though, we were either out or by the pool. Ours was a caravan.

It's strange, we didn't go to the beach - despite being by a beach being one of our criteria! We walked there one morning and looked at it and then returned to the pool. But then we live by the beach here and are beach lifeguards, so by September the novelty has worn off a bit!! I don't remember there being anything wrong with it though.

I know you've said you've reserved it, is that paid for? It's just that if you are going there we found that Matthews were much cheaper - we got a caravan for the price of a tent with other companies. And then following year they give you a loyalty discount.

I have it on hold until tonight, so need to make my mind up. Thanks for the Matthews tip - I'll check it out. My DC love to go to the kids clubs, hence booking through one of the bigger operators (will get a loyalty bonus). Have got a good deal because they have special offers up until 23 July. Go a day later and it's £400 more expensive for the same fortnight

I am two minds because we do this type of hliday every year and i fancy something different, but the DC love it so much. DH doesn't mind as long as he doesn't have to drive too far.
