Hi all - am trying to find a nice family type campsite (not just a field, but not a huge complex either) within walking distance of a sandy beach in North Devon for a short break in August (not the bank holiday, but just before it). Am I asking the impossible??! Any recommendations pretty please?? I have been trawling the UK campsite lists but seem to be getting myself more confused. I thought of Burnham on Sea area as it's not too far for me to drive but am I right in thinking the beaches there are muddy?

We are going to N Devon in May for half term, although we are not camping we are staying on a small site with caravans, chalets etc called manleigh park.

On doing lots of research of the area a campsite that seems to be mentioned a lot (with good reviews) is northmortefarm.co.uk. Check it out.

Nortyh Morte is lovely but you can only get to the beach down a steep footpath - it's only 10 mins form Wolcacombe though.

It's also a bit hairy with small dds! (steep cliffs and sloping fields)

We stayed at Watermouth Cove campsite which was nice
