I've been googling and ukcampsiting for a couple of hours now and I can't see the wood for the tree's. Can anyone offer a recommendation for good family sites we can take our tent to, near to a beach. We want to go south this time, so far we''ve been to the Vendee a few times, but the weather is a bit hit and miss. Please?

Do you want the SW (Gascony) or South - Langedoc region - or Cote D'azur?

In Gascony, Le Vieux Port has LOADS of tents and direct access (via a hill) to the beach, which is fab but rough (surfers etc).

La Sirene is nice, near Argeles, very commercial, loads of entertainment. Do you want quiet??

Siblu Touring have a new site for TEnts only on COte D/azur (not been there), but we had a nice site in Port GRimaud.

You need to narrow your region first, and take it from there

We didn't enjoy Le Vieux port, found it much too crowded, tents on every available bit of ground and way to far to the toilets. (15min walk) and also quite higgledy piggledy so kids had limited freedom cos they were getting lost and it was much too busy. Think you are better off for reliable weather the med coast too

Must admit we were in a van there and the tents were cramped!

Best site we saw for Tents was La Carabasse with Siblu, but I can't see you can book anything other than Vans there now. They were on large plots and plots had there own Loo & Sink! You had to walk through Vineyards to the beach and the sitre was green.

Ala Rogers is a good site.

Thanks, I'll have a look at Alan Rogers - had forgotten about it. I'm not too sure about regions, I just want good weather and beaches a site not too commercial, but with things for the dc's - perhaps I'm looking for the holy grail.
