Is there anywhere in London that has lots up on display? We want a proper big family tent with rooms and stuff (gets overexcited as types) would love to hear any suggestions of great tents and where to see or buy them.

we got a sunvalley6 by outwell that has 2 bedrooms

there is a 3 bedroomed version called sunvalley8

It is really deffo brill HUGE canopy at the front you can stand up easily if you are 6' tall

we got it from company in sussex but they were not very helpful so wouldn't recommend them

My tent is from decathlon, I don't know if there's one in London, but they have them on display, and they are well priced.

We have the sunvalley 8 and can hugely recommend it in every way, these people are OK, its where we got ours and they were fine but we picked it up rather than had it delvered.

The best thing to do first is set your budget....
and stick to it! Otherwise you will get carried away!

January is the best time to buy them I've found- post-christmas sales, and usually excellent discounts due to new models being released each summer.

We used to have the Outwell vermont L which was fab but have just upgraded to the Outwell Norfolk Lake which is pretty much the same tunnel desgin as the Vermont but made of polycotton.

No idea of any displays near London sorry but have fun looking

ooh, thanks all. RTKanga, that looks like the kind of place i'm after. and yes, EPPM I can see you're right, I'm already getting carried away just sitting here with my mouth watering! Jan sales is a good plan, I'm planning to give him a tent peg and go from there...

any other specific recommendations let me know, and thanks again for replies.

If you are in South london the one where we got ours was on A22 in GODSTONE

They have lots on display

But they don't give discounts though

alittleteapot · 11/12/2008 21:59

i was googling for a tent type show "Ideal Tent Exhibition" type thing but couldn't find anything. I'm north London but willing to travel for right place.

We've got an Outwell Georgia XL, and love it to death.

Currently half price (about £250) with Yeomans outdoors (online) dribble, dribble

Easy to put up and down, three nice bedrooms, and the size of an aircraft hangar.

maviscrewit · 16/12/2008 13:41

I luuuuurve my Outwell Idaho XL - its huge with two bedrooms, changing areas and wardrobe rails too. I got it from Yeoman's online but have only used it once and it was fab - roll on next year. Good luck in your search. Also whatever you choose have a look at the reviews on UKcampite website - they'll help you decide.
