Have you had a look on ukcampsite?

How about this one royal avignon or bordeaux scroll down a bit.
or this Wynnster Kestrel 6
Or how about this one Sunncamp Global 600

All are similar to Monty, however the cheaper ones have the fibreglass poles not steel like the monty has.

We bought a Skandika tent from an E-bay shop. I thought/think it stands up quite well next to the Outwells. Cheaper too! Loads of different designs to look at if you click on the E-shop link.

Outwell Montana 6 - excellent choice (see pictures on my profile). There are some bargains around atm as they are changing the design, apparently, so getting rid of old stock. Can't search for you now as buggermeit'shalfpastfiveandthere'snothingfordinnereek...but to answer the other bit of your question no you can't buy mine cos I love it. And similar...phhhshaw...get a Monty.

I can email you more photos if you like, Twig.

I was told by Yeomans when I bought my Outwell Montana 6 that their (i.e. Yeomans)cheaper Peakland range of tents were actually made by Outwell and were of equal quality, although they were possible slightly lower spec as far as things like pockets etc etc were concerned.

Agree with Soren, the Montana 6 is great (I wish we had bought one, we got the 4 instead).

Yes, and the Montana's being replaced with a similar range called Minnesota.

link here they all look a bit on the small side but don't know what you're looking for, they're helpful on the phone so maybe call to ask about next years stock

Twiglett · 18/09/2008 16:54

hmmmm, can't help, but my friend got a second hand one on ebay, absolute bargain, perfect condition

SorenLorensen · 18/09/2008 21:02

Well, I'm mostly going on what Troutpout tells me (she has a Monty too) - I think she said they had them for two hundred and something in Go Outdoors (but there are none online, I looked). That's not a bad price (outdoormegastore) - it's less than I paid a couple of years ago. And they truly are great tents. And I just bought the extension for ours which I am unfeasibly excited about - but will have to wait til next year to try out.

I am off outdoormegastore though so buy one somewhere else - I returned some trousers to them almost 3 months ago, first they claimed they hadn't received them, then they said they had - I have still not had a refund. Their customer service is crap.

SorenLorensen · 18/09/2008 21:04

It's one whole English pound cheaper here

SorenLorensen · 18/09/2008 21:08

Nothing cheaper on ebay that I can find (well, there's one that is up to £230 with bids but has 2 days to go - can't see it being much cheaper in the end).
