We went to Carnac with Canvas but I am sure Keycamp was there too. It was a lovely area, a really nice camp especially if you have small children as there are farm animals in little paddocks within the camp and ponies you can hire out for half an hour to take for a walk all over the camp. I would happily go back.

also les mouettes\link{http://www.les-mouettes.com/here} was great

st jean de monts is nice in the vendee - the beaches are superb

Tortington · 04/09/2008 18:18

here les mouettes

the first one - you can piss on from st malo. - if you dont mind a long ferry ride.

i always use the chunnel these days. better than upchucking

cornsilk · 04/09/2008 18:28

Yes ds's want to go on chunnel! Dh fancies flying as we messed up big style with our ferries this year (first timers) and ended up driving from Dunkerque to Caen, when we could have got the bloody ferry to Caen!

i never really understood why people fly to camp in france - the cost must be prohibative - ad itf there are only 4 of you, then i am sure you can get a fab deal for the money you would pay for flihts, car hire and caravan.

tell the kids that there is nothing to see on chunnel - you sit in car for 30 mins

if you aren't sea sick ( as i reeeeeeally am) i think the ferry could be a great part of the holiday experience - esp if youhave younger kids - as there is things to do - i remember on a partic long ferry ride, thee was a magician and everything.

although i was outside hurling

DrAnthonyZybutz · 04/09/2008 18:46

we are 3 hrs from chunnel so that really puts oyu off
are half an hour form airport and an hour form port.

DrAnthonyZybutz · 04/09/2008 18:47

also flights are wuite cheap to bordeaux - better than two days driving.
siseter flew this year - left campsite at 11am and was home by 3

cornsilk · 04/09/2008 20:34

which airlines fly to bordeaux? Have had a look, can only find jet 2 flying from MCR but v. cheap price.

If you want to fly why don't you guarantee the weather and go to italy? We're just back from here and have booked to go again next year! SO much for the kids to do - slies, 4 pools and a short 5 min walk to gorgeous sandy beach. Town within walking distance and campsite has a bus stop outside where you can get the bus in to Venice or caorle. It was fab!
