I have just squeezed everything in to the car, well not everything and was wondering how do you manage?

You can get a roofbox for some makes of car. These carry a lot of extra luggage - may be worth looking into for future trips.

Yes we do use a roof box, a long thin one so we can get two bikes on top too. hubby doesn't want to pile the car too high in the back in case it falls on kids in an emergency stop too. We don't take heaters, toilets, etc, try to keep it to basics as much as poss.

No, apart from them being too small

Actually, I think DH objects to them for some car-related reason. I would prefer one because I hate towing...

I think you fill whatever space you have don't you. It was a squeeze so we got a bigger car and a roofbox and we seemed to have acres of space. Now it's a squeeze again.
