Should I accept this tent?

Recieved a Bear Lake 6 last week and put it up on sunday to discover some dodgy (i.e. missing) stitching There's a picture in my profile. The area is only about an inch long at present and if it leaked would drip into the bedroom pod.

We've had a sucession of poorly made tents (from other manufacturers) all of which have gone back (7 leaks, holes in roof, 11 leaks). We are begining to think that modern tents are going to faulty and should try to live with it, but at this price I'm not readily willing to accept defeat.

Accept and repair myself or go through hassle of sending back?

i would return it.not all modern tents are faulty, you just seem to be having poor luck!

LazyLinePainterJane · 21/07/2008 13:45

Send it back! We have never had an issue with a tent!

Have you tried a Khyam?

Babysamrocks · 21/07/2008 14:39

I wouldn't hesitate in returning it.

Oh goodness yes, send it back. For the price you pay for a Bear lake is should be perfect.

Where did you buy it moominpappa? You could try getting in touch with them first as they may be able to replace it. IIRC a Bear Lake is an expensive tent. I'd suggest that if your stitching is faulty then you'd be better off getting another. Our new tent is a Vango and hasn't leaked, so they can't all be that bad!

Absloutely send it back!

Outwell's customer service is usually great and it is rare to get a fault on a Lake.
