Can anybody tell me about the wash facilities on camping sites

Hi
I have never camping but I am about to give it a go.
However what are the washing facilities like on these campsites, do they have private cubicles or do you just sort of stand at a sink with everyone else around you.
Sorry if it sounds a dumb question but just trying to get a picture of what to expect.

Private cubicles, just like a gym. Sometimes the sinks are open plan, on quieter sites you'll prob be the only one in there.

Very much depends on the site. Most have individual cubicles these days.

Depends which site you go on.

First one I went to, the sinks were all in a row, and I had to stand next to a complete stranger while she scrubbed her false teeth.

Next site was better, with private cubicles.

That said - I AM NEVER GOING CAMPING AGAIN!! EVER.....EVER.......EVERRRRRRRR
I flipping hate it.

check the info - each site usually has a bunch of symbols alongside its name, showing what facilities it has such as showers, play area, laundry and stuff. The shower blocks on the great majority of sites we've been to have showers in cubicles, and likewise sinks in decent-sized cubicles. As mrschop says, on quieter sites or later evening you find you are the only one in there anyway. One little tip, find out if showers are free or if they're coin-operated, usually 20p's if anything.

Oh, and the other thing we find we use all the time is the 'kandoo' wash mitts, I give the DC one each on their hand, chuck them all in the shower cubicle at once - there are three of them but they're quite little. The job is so much easier than fussing with flannels and shower gel stuff IMO

Lockable shower cubicle with small area for hanging clothes. Usually have to use mop afterwards to wipe floor after you. Wear flip-flops. There's always one shower cooler/hotter than all the rest but you usually only discover which one at the end of the holiday.

Similar lockable sink cubicle for tooth-brushing/putting on make up.

Toilets

Often there are hair dryers in main area.
