Camping this weekend - weather forecast poor...

We have our new tent, equipment, 2 small children and a reservation on a campsite. Will be our first family camping trip - but the forecast is for rain/heavy showers. Should we go for it or wait for better weather? How bad is camping in the rain!?

Depends on the size of your tent, if you have a big tent with a central area it doesn't really matter if it rains or not!!
If like us you have a tiny tent that no-one except for Ds2 can even stand up in, then it really is quite miserable in the rain!

I personally wouldn't believe the forecast though, we went away last weekend and although it was showery, it was not the predicted wash out, I came back with sunburn

Depends how bad the rain is. If you are wavering about camping anyway then I'd suggest waiting for a sunnier weekend. We are very much fair weather campers. We go often, but only when the forecast is good. It's just about 100x better in the sun.

Saying that it's lovely weather here at the moment (in Devon) though everyone else in other places seems to be talking about bad weather.
