Camping & festivals with children: tips for reducing bulky food and drinks

I love camping and festivals, but the sheer amount I haul in (and back out again) gets me every time. Tents, chairs, layers, snacks... and food and drinks too, where it's allowed.

I'd guess it's even harder with kids. How do you manage it without lugging loads of liquid and bulky stuff?

I'm an auntie planning to take my nephew, so I'd love some tips.

What's your system? Any tricks that save space or weight?

Will you have a stove?

Festival fan Dc uses those pouches: Jamie Oliver grains, various curries etc

Packets of tortillas are good, they last, good for wraps, make quesadillas with them in a frying pan - sandwich two with pre grated cheese and sliced tomato or a tin of tuna and heat in a frying pan

Cereal bars for breakfast.

No chairs needed, sit on a rug. Don’t bring soft drinks, just a refillable container as they’ll have free tap water.
