How comfy does it need to be? I have 3 legged one from mountain warehouse, but it's not comfy for long. It folds down to the size of a large chunky umbrella so could be strapped to the crossbar if neccesary. I havent actually tried it though.

I bought a fab one that I took european camping this year - so I was flying. . I'll post details when I get home.

I’m guessing that the ultralight Nemo type chairs are too low?

This from Decathlon might work. It’s a traditional style chair at a decent height and it’s not that heavy for what it is. To me it looks as though it could be secured to the side of a rear panier rack.

Ours are trekology, they are low to the ground but sturdy. Easy to put together once you have done it once. They aren’t that light though, we are on a motorcycle

Helionox zero are very light - and comfortable (if pricey)

This is the one I've got. It is called low but I didn't feel it was. I'm very overweight and 60+ and it was easy to get up from. Veey easy to set up.

Yes, they are very good, but so expensive. I got the Decathlon version for around £35. Very similar and folds up too.

These decathlon ultra-compact chairs are brilliant. We take them motorcycle camping. There are L and XL versions with higher backs too. They aren't that low, I would really recommend trying out if you haven't already. https://www.decathlon.co.uk/p/low-camping-chair-ultra-compact-and-foldable-500-m-green/375910/c311c1m8975150
