How do families organise the living area in a large tent?

We have the Berghaus 600 tent for 4 of us. We have a cupboard with good bits outside in the porch area. We go camping when its nice weather so have a table and chairs and other chairs outside. What does everyone do with their living area? Intrigued to know. We mostly have bags of clothes, shoes etc. Id like to make better use of the space so thought id see what others do.

Where is your cooking area, cool
box etc? And your toys, shoes, and other random stuff?

We have our cooking area outside the front porch. We have a cupboard with all our food, cups, plates, pots etc and then the stove out there too. Inside we have shoes, clothes, books, a bag of toys and anything else.

We put a big rug on the floor, some cushions and fairy lights and when we're all in pyjamas later on in the day we sprawl out playing games. The same if it rains.

Clothes stay in the bedrooms and we have a flexible bucket for shoes near the door. No shoes in the tent.

Everything else lives in various stacking really useful boxes.

Clothes bags around the edge of living area, and chairs in the middle for cosy indoors breakfast (we also only camp in the summer but it’s not always sunny and warm!). Chairs come outside for meals when it’s warmer.

Enclosed porch zone has all the food, cooking stuff, shoes, bats and balls etc.

We’ve never managed one of those camping living areas like in the brochures, with elegant inflatable sofas, side tables and pot plants!

I love the Ikea Kallax boxes - they fold dead flat in the car but pop out for clothes / toys / general stuff storage. We also take lovely rugs - again fold to nothing across boot (first thing packed) and really make the tent feel homely.

We have a camping cupboard for games inside and there are usually bags of beach/swimming stuff and shoes/coats. The table and chairs are outside for breakfast and dinner but we bring them inside in the evening to play games. We don't stay on site during the day so everything gets stored inside whilst we're out.

Clothes are in the sleeping pods. All cooking and eating stuff is in the porch.

Collapsible folding and stacking boxes are your friend here!
I need chairs these days so these go in the "living area".
Cooking stuff outside on camp kitchen, use windbreaks to cordon it off.
Clothes stay in bedroom.
Box by door for shoes.
Grab bag for shower trips.
Lightweight quick drying towels on the guy lines.
Laptop etc stay in car to avoid damp.

This is a game changer for drying stuff. Had mine for years and wouldn't camp without it. (We camp for 2-3 weeks at a time so laundry is a must.)
