has anyone been here? I am planning a trip for a couple of nights with some friends, looks fine but some of the reviews have said it is really windy, is it a big problem?, also anyone know how busy it gets would I need to book ahead for a couple of nights midweek (in summer holidays).
Alternatively anyone care to recomend a site on the Sussex coast. We are 4 mums with assorted kids, one with significant special needs.

Sorry can't help specifically, could you phone the site and ask about avaliability and 'wind'?

p.s I'm also a geogteach

I feel a fake, haven't actually done any geog teaching for 3 years but did go on DS1's school trip today, now if someone could find me a job that was field trips everyday i'd be right back!

I go every year. You definately need to book, sooner rather than later.

The site is a flat field, just behind the beach but shielded by a shingle bank. On the land side the surrounding area is very flat, although I haven't noticed the wind particularly (but we stay in a caravan). Nice site, good toilets and showers, small shop, not much else.

Best bit is that you can walk across the (quiet) road to the beach. Beach is shingle except at low tide when the sand is exposed. It's quite steep and you have to scramble over a wooden fence to get onto the beach.

Easy drive into Eastbourne for the usual seaside stuff, swimming pool etc.
