Please help me find this campervan!

Hi all..i know this campervan model exsists as ive seen it before but can't find it of late! Looking to buy a 2nd hand model. Really want one that has an overcabin bed (for me and oh) but two single beds at the rear (not bunks) for my teen and pre teen. Any ideas? This layout would work best for us but seems a rarity..!

I should say motorhome rather than campervan!

It’s either a Challenger or Chausson that you can get models with rear single beds in. Sorry I can’t remember which one but my BIL just sold one with rear beds and it was one of those makes.

Twin singles is a relatively rare set-up and linking it to an overcab bed is restricting your search even more.
Does it have to be an overcab or would you accept a drop-down? What about the front dinet converting to a double?
What is your budget?

The Elddis Auto quest 196 may be an option if you can compromise on the overcab.
Another Elddis is the Avalon 285.

Thanks for these suggestions...will go looking. A drop down would be feasible..def dont want to have to make up double bed from front seating. We hired one for a weekend and was too much faff!. Ideally want beds to be able to be left made up. Budget around 40k but appreciate ill be v lucky and probs will need to up it. 😫

That’s exactly what we have. Rimor Superbrig 695 TC. It has the layout you want. 3.5 tonne so can drive on a standard car licence.

Drop down beds only work if the people sleeping in them go to bed at the same time! Likewise the people staying in the back beds don’t get up early/ stay up late. The drop down bed takes away the sitting area. The overcab beds are better for that reason! I think the only model the drop down bed doesn’t take the seating area away is a Globebus a class.

zefiro 685? Some of the older ones are reasonable. We have just part exchanged ours for a caravan.

Two singles in the back (lots of storage underneath an inserts to make it into a large bed if wanted) and a drop down above the lounge - used to store it made up ready to go and it had a nice amount of headroom compared to an overcab.

We have had many MoHo's over the years and you need to be certain about the layout but if you have already hired one then you have a good idea.

An overcab double is great (my OH sleeps up there), we have had drop-down & fixed overcab in the past but the overcab is far better as it leaves the central dinet available.Also the overcab is a brilliant place to store sleeping bags, pillows, blankets etc.
We dislike permanent beds as they trade a couple of minutes making up the bed for a significant loss of space the rest of the time. We bought one once (had to see if it worked for us) and we both agreed it was not our thing, we lost a second (rear) lounge for a fixed bed that became a dumping ground during the day. That said, many like them and they definitely have a place.

What is your driving license situation?
If you both/or the driver has a C1 then you can get a Moho over 3500kg which will help your payload (important with four of you on board). Plus you also benefit from cheaper road tax, our 4250kg Moho is just £175/pa and costs no more to run/service than the equivalent 3500kg model.

Thank you for this...no we only have standard driving licences so would need to ensure we don't get anything too big/heavy...

Actually I recently lost my C1 due to a health condition so now only my OH can drive our Moho.☹️

The weight consideration is something to think about, especially as there will be four of you along with clothing, food, bedding etc. People buy all sorts of things that they think they "need' and can then find them considerably overweight (think BBQ, power bank, windbreaks, awning, bicycles, coffee maker, air fryer, self levelling, full tank of water etc).
Being overweight is an offence and for all those that say "I have never been checked", there is someone who has had to offload at the roadside.
When we buy a new Moho, we load it up with our usual kit plus a tank of fuel, some water, Ddogs etc and head off to our local weighbridge. For £15 we are given the three readings required to ensure we are within limits (F&R axles plus overall).

Could you get a tent for the teens?!!

We had a Swift Kon-tiki 884 which had twin singles at the back. No overcab bed though, the front dining area converted into a double.

Oh good spot i'd not even noticed! My OH could prob cope with that..not sure I could! Thank you for all advice re weight limits too...not thought about that much but clearly need to!
