Goodwood - Festival of Speed

Has anyone got any experience of camping at Goodwood FOS? We're relatively experienced campers but there's not much information available about the facilities on-site. I'm wondering if anyone can shed any light on the shower/toilets and other facilities - are there big queues etc? Any hints or tips would be great!

We went a few years ago (campsite H) and the facilities were very hit and miss. There were plenty of them, but it was pot luck whether there was water pressure, hot water, toilet paper and whether they had muddy and hairy floors! Several toilets got closed off. If you go early in the day, you’ll get them at their best.

Thanks - that's useful to know. I don't mind a cold shower and will pack some toilet roll. I'll go prepared for Glastonbury style chaos and be pleasantly surprised if it's a better experience!

There were fresh water standpipes dotted around the camping field. During the day, try to carry as little as possible as you’ll be doing a lot of walking. But I do recommend always carrying a Sharpie as you never know when you’ll get the chance for an autograph!

I'd never even thought of that - Sharpies added to the list! Were there any food/drinks stalls on the campsites - I'm wondering if I can get cold beer on an evening as we appear to be heading in to another heat wave 😂

Yes there were food trucks right in the campsites in the mornings and evenings. I’m not sure if they sold alcohol, but you are allowed to take your own alcohol. Are you taking a cool box?

SaffyWall · 03/07/2026 09:47

Thanks for confirming that. We're on campsite E, with electric hook-up, and have a couple of plug-in cool boxes but are still fairly limited on space. I'm just trying to gauge what's available on the campsites as the information is a bit sparse and we're Goodwood novices (and I don't cope well in the heat!).

To avoid your tent getting too hot, cover it in those foil blankets or covers that people put in their car windscreens. Also take cooling towels and mini battery powered fans.

Thanks - I've ust bought 12 of them from Go Outdoors - I'll pack some pegs and gaffer tape too!
