Hi! I want to take my daughter backpacking/camping for a mom and daughter date. I usually reply heavily on my husband to make a fire, pitch the tent up, carry heavy gear, etc so Im worried I wont be enough. We usually car camp (think of big family tent) but Im looking to backpack with her so we can hike and bring less things. What is some gear that I would need that I wouldn’t already have from car camping and what stuff will make our trip easier?

I would look up some DofE advice for what kit.
e.g.

Where/how far are you planning to hike and then camp?
Is the camp on a campsite or a wild pee-in-the-bushes site?
How's your level of comfort with minimal clothes and lightweight meals, plus sitting on ground instead of chairs and minimal toiletries/no hair dryer?
(Just gauging things before I wade in properly).
