Camping with a baby

I’m wanting to take our baby camping in the summer. He will be about 6months at the time. We have 2 older children 4 and 7. Is there any advice we need for making camping easier with a 6 month old?
Or any camping sites around Yorkshire anyone can recommend?
thank you!

It depends how well your baby sleeps at that time. A holiday cottage is probably easier whilst they’re a baby.

Huh? How light is your tent?! The highchair is 4kg which really isn’t much for what it is and how useful it’s been for us.

We go camping with a large 6-man tent because we have three kids. We’re not backpacking. We put the high chair in the car with our other camping gear (we have a people carrier) so weight is not an issue.

I have 3 tents (and 3 kids) Lightest of my tents is under 1kg but the one I used most when I was out with the oldest and middle when they were a baby, as per the chat is about 1.8kg or thereabouts. Now we tend to take both tents and a tarp for the middle as the kids are a bit older so we like to have more room, also the kids can split the tent weight between them so it’s not so much extra.

We do different types of camping. That’s fine and we do what works for our families.

I shared a product that I’ve found really useful for my son. Not just for camping either; we keep it in the boot all the time for when we need a highchair and one isn’t available. If the product I shared isn’t something you (or anyone including the OP) would want, that’s fine. I get no commission. 🙂
