Hello

Can anyone recommend a place for camping, scenic walks, villages, shops, boat trips, etc I love the lake District but can't make it there this year and want somewhere else closer to do some camping with kids 5&3
Will be in summer holiday

We are in swanley Kent so anywhere about a 2 hour drive max from there would be ideal

I love the witterings (might be a bit further than 2 hours from you) and the area around Christchurch. Lots of lovely beaches and nice sites.

I also love West Mersea and that area, but I don’t know about campsites there: bit closer to you though.

Park Farm in Sussex is a lovely site on the banks of a river and waking distance from Bodiam Castle (about 25 mins walk following the river). The farm has some nice walking trails. It’s a very family- friendly site, with a decent play area, snack shop and it allows campfires.

Used to camp Hytye way as a kid. More recently I’ve camped in Norfolk

Nethergong camp site in Kent. Brilliant for kids! Great facilities, camp shop and cafe, frog pond..
