we're thinking of booking a holiday at eurocamp, probably in north brittany. Just wondered if anyone had been and love or loathed it?

Have you picked a site yet?

we like the look of Château de Galineé, we've never travel very far with the kids before but know i think they're all old enough (younges is 4) do you use tunnel, ferry or fly? I'm very new to all this

We have been there at least twice! With our own tent, though. It is lovely and great for that age - ours must have been around that age. Still would be fine for younger teens too. Good pool and water slide complex, mini-farm, shop, bar, (take-away and restaurant, I think) There were always bouncy castles when we were there too! Nice surrounding area, too.

Don't know that site, but the 'castels' sites are usually of high standard.

Several options for channel crossings. Depends where you are in the UK, your French destination and whether you want a short crossing (or the tunnel) or a longer, maybe overnight crossing. We tend to use the Poole Cherbourg route, from west London to Brittany and the Vendee.

Also check out the other operators (Canvas Holidays, Canvas Life, Keycamp, Siblu, Vacances Soleil, Ian Mearns etc).

eurocamp are fab and my advice is call them and say what you are looking for and they will suggest some places to look at. they all use the campsites themselves and most seem to have kids. i think that le cast is meant to be good - but we now go further down, the vendee is lovely. and look at the recommendations here!

We LOVE eurocamp holidays.

Went to France last year (berny Riveria) and Holland this year (duinrell), both were fantastic.

You literally will not need to take any equipment with you, as they provide anything.

You may just want to take your own bedding.

you have to go to the mumsnet homepage to see the listing link

Everything not anything!!!!

Love2bake · 07/06/2008 17:12

We used the Eurotunnel for both our trips, then drove to campsite - 2 hours to france and 3 to Holland.
