wow - some bargains on there Anyone know about the quality?

dustystar · 06/06/2008 11:39

Its generally pretty good and always good value.

Lucycat · 06/06/2008 17:41

I'm seriously tempted by the self inflating mat for dd2, she's the ultimate roller and ended up underneath her Ready Bed most nights last week. But we really don't need any more stuff - ooh I like the UFO light too.

Don't let me near the store

Surfermum · 06/06/2008 17:42

Does anyone know what those self-inflating mattresses are like?

Lucycat · 06/06/2008 17:45

Tell you what Surfermum, go and try it out in store on Sunday for us

That would get a few funny looks!

dustystar · 06/06/2008 17:45

They're supposed to be really good surfer.

dustystar · 06/06/2008 17:45

lol I could get dh to try one

Milliways · 06/06/2008 18:18

DS slept on an Aldi self inflating mat for a few months when he had a bad back - and he was fine.

We took them all camping recently, but the concensus was that DH & DD preferred our air beds.

In that awful wind & rain, some frinds were in an Aldi tent and it wasn't very well designed. The water got in underneath as the bottom of the tent was a bit flappy. Apparently it has never leaked through the top but the wind/rain combination finished it off.

We use the Aldi camping torches and other accessories, but for major items like tents I would probably avoid and go for a higher HH (min 3000)

Surfermum · 06/06/2008 20:21

I think I'll avoid them then. Mind you I normally drink enough not to care what I'm sleeping on .

Dh wants one of the hammocks. I might get him on for father's day. I can just see me lying in it, ipod on, reading a book, glass of wine in my hand.

Surfermum · 06/06/2008 20:21

Oh Millways - where did you go for Whitsun? Did you end up at Bere Regis?

Milliways · 06/06/2008 21:07

No, we went back to Britchcombe Farm. The owner is amazing. She barred off the whole field until we had spread out enough (50+ campers) and never charges us when we bail out early - which has now happened 2 Whitsins in a row!!

dustystar · 07/06/2008 10:40

The tents have a good rep for the price surfer. I don't know what hh they have sold previously but this one is 4000.

dustystar · 10/06/2008 14:27

We've just bought the tent and put it up. I don't think it would cope with any extreme weather but seems sturdy enough and i could get it up on my own so a good weekend tent for us.

nappyaddict · 13/06/2008 13:03

have you used it yet dusty?

Tidgypuds · 13/06/2008 13:11

Hello fellow campers. I have just bought from Aldi 2 double flocked airbeds at 9.99 each and a electric cooler for 29.99 both cheaper than Go Outdoors which is the cheapest place round here for camping things. Bargin.

dustystar · 13/06/2008 14:59

Not yet NA. We hope to get away next weekend but we are also getting a Norfolk Lake which will hopefully arrive next week and I'm not sure which tent we'll use. It should be the Aldi one as we bought it for short stays but I may be too excitied by the NL and have to use that
