do you take heaters?

Does anyone take any form of heating when they go camping and if so what, don't want to burn the tent down but can't bear being cold

I'm sure some people do, wouldn't be camping to me if I did but then som epeople take generators ans tvs with them so it is possible.

I'm sure someone with experience of this will be along though!

you need a good sleeping bag and a decent insulating layer under it

Invest in a really good sleeping bag, 4 season even, and a silk lining, and lots of proper insulating layers, including hat and gloves, for the evening.

Yes - we get a pitch with electrics and take a little fan heater.

Lest I get accused of being nesh as well ... we only bought it since the kids were born (they're still v little) and it means they don't start winging at 3 am and need to get in with us for the rest of the night!

The little gas lights chuck out a fair bit of heat if its just while you're sitting around in the evening...

No we don't but I know plenty of people who use their Argos 2kw fan heaters in the tent. You can buy all sorts of specialist camping heaters - tis a heated debate on ukcamping!

when i camped with xp we took a camping heater, but i didnt like it on around the LO's was very worried they'd knock it( it was on a high stand) so it only got used by me in april, as i always wake up by 6 am when camping but the chidlren don't. that said last week when i camped by myself i didnt wake until 7.30am with the dc. we dont have a heater tho it belonged to xp
