Bad back camping

My partner gets a stiff back and is worried about going camping.

What would people recommend? A basic blow up mattress is too soft. Would a camp bed be better? He is best with a supportive but hard mattress.

10cm self inflating mat, just as comfortable as my bed at home.

A SIM, self inflating mat.

Or foam mat in a camp bed.

We use an Outwell Posadas campbed with a 5cm SIM on top _ really comfortable

Go to go outdoors or decathlon. They have raised camp beds which he can try

Berghaus SIM is great

If you're car camping (so not having to carry anything long distances) get a canvas lilo. You can get them double size (choose a flat one without an integral pillow) and blow it up to the softness he likes - I have always found them just as comfortable as a bed

Went for the Vango self inflating mat, was brilliant. Says extra support in the blurb and was definitely firm.
