Just had our first camping trip with DS (aged 2). We went to Crail (Fife, by the sea) for 2 nights. What great fun! I was apprehensive about DS getting lost, being cold etc. The first night I slept with DS, he was fine but DH and I were freezing. The second night DH and I put on an excessive amount of layers and slept much better. DS was in a thermal vest, PJs, wooly socks, wooly jumper and grobag. We then gave him a hot water bottle and covered him in a duvet! Highlights of the trip include that first brew of the morning and sausages! I feel a bit guilty that we cooked in the tent but one of us was watching DS like a hawk. We went out for the day to national trust places. I would highly recommend the campsite. Right by the sea and superb showering/toilet facilities. My DS is quite timid and unsure of playgrounds etc. By the end he was climbing up slides and going down them with glee, an absolute joy to see. All the fresh air did him good as well. DH and I huddled in and drank wine, ate chocolate and played cards when DS went to sleep. I am a bit down today, anti-climax I suppose. Oh and I have managed to put on 6 pounds! Must have been all the wine, chocolate and cooked breakfasts . Worth it though
