electric cool boxes - useful?

Just bought a tent in the Halfords sale and am going camping this summer.

Do you find an electric coolbox useful?

How do you plug it in? (Excuse ignorance! Have only been camping at festivals in a 2-man tent before pregnancy.)

What size is good for a family of four?

I find electric cool boxes awkard if they are the type that plug into a car lighter socket. They never seem to stay cold enough. Now we have a mini fridge and camp at places that have electric hook ups.

Thanks mobiles. Is that a special camping mini fridge (if there is such a thing), or just a normal mini fridge?

I am a cheap arse, so we just use a mini fridge, although you can use a specfic camping fridge. I do believe you can buy cool boxes with a plug on the end rather than a car adaptor. In all I would just go for something with a plug over a car adaptor!
