Mummy. What IS Camping?

We're going camping at the weekend! - for one night only, and only about 15 miles away, just to get the ball rolling and test the new tent. DS is sooooooooo excited and over the past few days has asked "Mummy/Daddy. WHAT IS CAMPING?" several thousand times, just to get us to talk about it. (He has been before and knows exactly what it is ... ) We've gone over every aspect of what it is, what you do, all the equipment and all the quintessential camping experiences.

So I want your pithy summaries please - What Is Camping?
