Snowdonia advice needed

Hi.
I am an experienced camper but haven’t yet camped or been even to Snowdonia and I’m struggling how to start planning.
It will just be me and my small dog with a car. I’d like to be somewhere with walks close by - around 3 hours would suit the limit of my dog- plus places not too far away to get a coffee and food.
Where is the best area or campsite to aim for? It will be for next week but after the madness of the bank holiday.
thanks!

Should have added I’m not fussed about electric and would prefer a basic campsite. My days of taking children are over so prefer somewhere quiet.

Look at Graig Wen on the southern end of Snowdonia. Best campsite I’ve ever visited by a mile. Only slightly moody thing is the steep track down to the parking but you get used to that, it really is a stunning site.

Cae Du sounds like it would be the perfect site for you and your dog. It’s within easy walking distance of Beddgelert and has some stunning shortish walks from the site.

my advice is to learn the Welsh name

I second Cae Du, stayed there last year. Cafes a short walk away, and surrounded by scenery and walks.

Maybe a but blunt but yes OP, if you learn the Welsh name it is far more respectful Smile

True, but more likely to get answers from a site if you use the name that's familiar to more of its users.

People will learn it gradually.
