First time camping with a toddler!

Helloo!

My husband and I are thinking of taking our almost 3 year old camping in 2 weeks... We have a T5 campervan so are well versed in the world of camping BUT we've never been with a toddler! We're also planning on sleeping in a tent to make life easier space wise.

My question is, what essentials would you recommend? Obviously there's sleeping bags, extra layers etc but I'm looking for a checklist based on real experience. Any tips or pointers are appreciated - along with any advice to avoid buying items which are unnecessary too!

Thanks in advance 😊

Foam play mats for tent floor: insulation for sleeping.

What will you sleep on?

Wellies for long wet grass.

Lots of wipes.

Handy snack food: brioche rolls, banana, baby bels etc.

S / butchers hooks for the shower to hang clothes and towels in plastic bags

Zip the tent zips to the top to prevent early morning escape

Outdoor toys but no bubbles. Tent owners hate bubbles which are not good for tents.

Be prepared to be awake from 5am or whenever the sun comes up. You need to have something to keep him quiet until the rest of the campers wake up or jump in the car and take him off site if he's loud.

Carbon monoxide detector for in the tent.
Meds incase the toddler is unwell.
Wellies are a must
It will be a great adventure

Hi All!

Thanks for your replies/suggestions. Unfortunately, we didn't end up going (little one was unwell), but we'll definitely take these on board for when we eventually try it out! :)
