Sleeping options - SIM, campbed, combo?

We are fairly seasoned campers prior to having our toddler. Always used blow up bed (or rollaway mat if roughing it). Considering another option as find air mattresses pop even when layered underneath and can't get comfy. We would like to be able to sleep together if possible so considering a double raised bed, but also wondering how the bar down the middle doesn't make this incredibly uncomfortable? Do people use a SIM on these and if so, any recommendations on thickness, whether to use a double or 2 singles? Don't want to spend a fortune as just upgraded our tent but also do like to be comfortable. Toddler will be on blow up toddler bed

Amazon sell double roll up futons.

I have never used them so cannot comment. We use Outwell Poisidas beds with a Boutique Camping roll up Oxford bed on top and a cheap inflatable mattess on top of that. Very comfortable. We sleep on wide singles and would recommend 2 single SIMs or mats on top of a double raised bed as I do think that the raised bar down the middle would be uncomfortable.

I would just put two SIMs on the floor with a fitted sheet over them both to keep them together.

Double SIMS are a massive pain to roll up.

Then add the Decathlon inflatable bed bases if you want more height / squashiness.

Recently treated myself to vango shangri la grande 10cm one each for myself and my husband. It's a game changer. Sleeping was the one part of camping I didn't love. Now, it doesn't put me off at all. I put a layer of foam tiles underneath and a large throw over them tucked in at the edge. They're not small to pack though.

Thickest SIM you can afford, ours are 12cm and very comfy. Used to use them on a campbed but now use them on the floor (just as comfy) to reduce packing. I have mine on a silver foam mat but it's not necessary.
