Safari tents/ tents etc - how dark in the morning?

I'm tempted to book one but I have a child that is VERY sensitive to light in the mornings. To the extent of blackout blinds and curtains at home, switching off even LEDs. We do camp, but have a good blackout tent.

Is there even any point in booking glamping or will we be up at 4:30am and miserable (this is for mid June btw)

Do you mean on an actual safari in Africa? We have slept in those but set off just before dawn every morning to get the best safari experience so woke up in the dark. And as it is close to the equator ( we were in Tanzania) there are long nights.

Sunrise and sunset happens much faster there than here. On the safaris I've been on, wake-up is 5.30am (still dark but then gets light quickly) for 6.00 breakfast for 6.30am safari drive (fully light). I stayed in chalets rather than tents albeit with canvas sides.

No. I mean Dorset or somewhere!

Just glamping in the UK really for those times I can't be bothered with the faff of camping but want the fun.

We stayed in a safari tent in a camping and caravan site in england, and also on a eurocamp site in europe.

It gets light in the tent as soon as its light outside. Definitely nothing like blackout

(my children also slept with 3 layers of blackout on their windows when they were younger; no safari tents are not even close to this dark)

You'll be up at 4.30.

Though the fresh air and late nights (similarly light in the evenings) tend to knock them out.

Oh....and the dawn chorus, and those bloody coooing wood pigeons from 4.30 onwards.....

Ok. I need a new plan 😂
Thank you!
