Suggestions for family camping in the north east

I am planning a weekend camping in June. We live just outside Durham and want to travel about an hour... so either North Yorkshire or Northumberland I suppose.

Has anyone any suggestions of campsites where the kids can run around and enjoy the fresh air?

I havent lived in the north east very long and never camped around here before so any suggestions would be gratefully accepted

Last year we stayed here in Yorkshire and had a really good time.

Lovely walks nearby, and a very good pub for food. The campsite had a beautiful river running through it. Wonderful for kids to splash about in. There is a deep pool and a small waterfall as well as the shallow paddley bits. But the river is far enough away from where you pitch tents for you to feel that little ones are safe.

In a couple of weeks we are camping in Kielder in Northumberland.
