Anyone got a favourite place to go? Only want to do a long weekend. Have 3 dc, so some sort of play area/sports field type thing would be good.

Thanks

here

Not been for years, it looks like it's been upgraded. A lovely spot, no playground but acres of land to romp through

Thanks for your quick reply. We have looked at that one, but dh a bit concerned about not being able to park the car near the tent. We do tend to live out of it a bit especially when its only for a weekend. It does look lovely though, and I'm very tempted.

Anywhere else anyone. Have to say that one was the only one that we did find ourselves.

Forest holidays- we adore the Christchurch site, sallyS likes Bracelands- and the car goes next to the tent. Just search forest holidays.

ooh will have a look. Thanks.

Stayed here at the weekend for our first trip - it was fantastic! The family field is great, all the kids just play in the middle whilst the grown-ups drink tea/wine/beer (take your pick) outside their tents/vans.

They look lovely. Have seen you talk about Christchurch before, but always assumed you meant in Dorset .
Have emailed them to dh to look at. Will await his reply Thanks

Nah, for Christchurch Dorset you stay at holmsley... no idea where you go for Holmsley though pmsl.

That one LilRed posted looks nice too, but as we live so close to the Forest (20 minutes drive on a good day) its easy to pop over to the cheap forest sites. Love the idea of chimneas around the site though . Our favourite site in Cheddar has big barbies on a free for all basis and its brilliant.

marymoocow · 06/05/2008 11:12

Yes. Just looked at LilRed site. Looks good too. Now I have too much choice . Where do you stay in Cheddar (somewhere else we've been thinking of)

we stay at broadway house, dh used to work there sometimes and his mate does the entertainment so it's very familiar lol. it's nice, amazing kids play area etc.

PeachyHas4BoysAndLovesIt · 06/05/2008 12:36

cheddar

When I asked what time we had to be off site the owner just said, "Whenever you fancy. I don't believe in rules!"

bracelands was a bit soulless IMO. Really huge field and gets incredibly busy at the weekends. The facilities were very clean and the countryside is beautiful though.

marymoocow · 06/05/2008 21:18

Thanks for the link. Have tried to look at that one before, but computer always crashes out when I try to look at it . Does look lovely from the home page though.
Just waiting for dh to decide now. Hopefully we won't have left it too late for anything.
