I find it tricky making use of the van at this time of the year when the weather is often so unpredictable or just predictably plain bad! Where do you go? I hate having my van sat on the drive doing nothing. I had just over 3 weeks in Scotland at the end of last Sept - West and East - it was pretty awful weatherwise TBH. I have a sketched out a plan to head down through France to visit my sister and then on to the south of Spain (Aguilas) but - it's hard finding a destination and site I'm convinced I will be happy to pitch at. Any ideas?

York caravan park is really handy for the York Christmas markets and all the other things going on in York over the Christmas period, such as Christmas at the Minster https://www.yorkcaravanpark.com/

Have an ask on the Facebook Hymer group, a lot of them over winter in Europe / Morocco so you should be able to find some good info.

Lots of campers in Cabanis Travera, Algarve

as others have said winter markets, Warwick, Bath, York

head down to Cornwall to avoid the frosts

For the UK I agree with York.
We are going to Cardiff in November, campsite in a park walkable to the city, and then you have the Waterside area.
We have done lots of short city breaks, Winchester, Salisbury, Bristol - anywhere where you can access the town via foot or bus.
Edinbugh and London all have sites with easy public transport into the cities.

The UK is always a bit sketchy weatherwise, days are short, and so many sites are seasonal. We tend to grab occasional weekends locally over the winter. We've a couple of favourite off-grid spots suitable for a small motorhome or campervan to choose from.

It's easier to make the most of a camper/motorhome if you have a hobby or interest that doesn't mind the bad weather too much - walking, wildlife, photography, etc.

If you can bear to go back to Scotland weatherwise, my parents stayed in their caravan several times just outside Edinburgh. I don't know exactly where but it can't be too difficult to find as it one it was one of the club sites.

There was a bus stop just outside the gate straight into Edinburgh. During the festivals there'd be people from the site queued up in their evening clothes going to events in Edinburgh. So a very good city break location.
