This is, of course, just an excuse to get your recommendations for a new tent!

What I need:

2-3 berth - doesn't need to be very big as it's for DS 5yrs and me.
under 4kg
small enough to fit in a backpack (so no vango pop-ups)
under £100

Anyone have any good recommendations? I've been searching and there are loads, so I'd really appreciate your experiences and recommendations for good ones.

Hit me with your best buys!

I definately prefer the coleman.

Anyone got one like this?

Like with all good porn, these things are best enjoyed on one's own anyway.

Actually, I want the vango tempest 200 drool

So these campers think they're a friendly helpful lot?

Obviously I didn't use the right secret code word to be allowed in.

I'll get the eurohike one I think, and spend the money I save on chocolate.

which I won't share with anyone else

either the eurohike backpacker or the dart, the dart is a bit bigger and heavier but does give more space, being a 3 person one.

I've always like the simple eurohikes!

I've tried everywhere in the last few days to get a Vango Tempest for dd1's D of E expedition next weekend but failed

She's sharing someone else's for now so hopefully will be able to get it for the summer.

Looks good doesn't it?

ideally I'd get the vango, I'm sure it pays to spend a bit more in the long run.

elling I've looked everywhere for a vango tempest too, it seems everywhere is sold out, maybe coz of festival season approaching?

I have a 4 berth eurohike so am biased too, I bought it ten years ago and it's still fine! Too big for backpacking though.

ooh sally, those are very good points! I'd quite like to build up a range of tents over the years too.

I'll get the eurohike.

cheers
