Does anyone know the difference between a flange and fixed tow bar?

I'm about to get one fitted on my car. Does it even matter? It's to tow a trailer tent.

Many thanks!

flange more expensive than fixed tow bar, but can be removed when you want to (would you want/need to do so?) both equally good in all other respects.

Do that mean a flange could be pinched maybe?

yes probably quite easily, just undo a few giant bolts. I'm not really sure of the advantage of a flange, after all towbars don't really get in the way when you're not towing
