We are going glamping this weekend- what are the essentials that I won't have thought of? Never been before, we usually do caravans and hotels 🤣

I mean,.what sort of things are you doing? What's provided? Who is going? Where?

Very little info provided....

Flip flops for the showers.
Torches
Very warm clothing so you can sit out at night and look at stars
Warm night clothes

But… what is provided? Full set up with sheets , towels and all kitchen equipment?

Painauraison · 09/05/2024 10:51

Its haven so has a little kitchen and 1 light. There's a 2 pan hob.

Flip flops is a great one, thanks!
Torches.

Unfortunately, BBQs aren’t allowed at Haven glamping sites (see one of the FAQs here: www.haven.com/holidays/glamping)
Have you seen this? https://www.haven.com/holidays/glamping/things-to-take-on-a-glamping-holiday

Insect repellent.
More changes of clothes than you think you'll need, especially for young kids.
At least one torch each.
Spare batteries.
Cards or a board game.
Lighter if needed for the stove.
Coins if needed for showers.
Outdoor toys like frisbees.

How did you get on @Painauraison?

Painauraison · 08/06/2024 06:27

I loved it and the children but my husband didn't! He's not keen to do it again so not sure if we will.

Me and the kids are outdoor people though. We didn't have a heater which could have been useful, particularly if it had rained. We had sun all weekend, and spent most of it at the beach. Then BBQ'd the 2 nights. :-)

I took the BBQ anyway - when we got there, the info pack said you are allowed to BBQ but not allowed to campfire, but we did see people doing that and nothing was said.

Sounds like you had a great time. Shame about your DH. I wonder why he didn't like it?
