Pop up tent recommendations?

Hi, looking for recommendations for a pop up tent for one adult and one child. However thinking of looking at a 3 or 4 man tent to give us more space. Needs to be a decent price and easy to put up as it's our first trip alone! Thanks :)

Decathlon is your first stop here! They have good pop ups, and also a framed collapsible pop up.

They should have their in-store tent displays up now so if you can get to a Decathlon go and have a look.

However. Pop up tents are usually not tall enough to stand up in and this can get very wearing, and difficult if it is raining and you have nowhere to light your stove, sit out of the rain etc.

Also although pop ups pop up nice and easily there is a real knack to folding them down and getting them back in the bag.

A simple 3 poled tunnel tent is so easy to put up, e.g this one https://www.millets.co.uk/16231965/eurohike-sendero-4-family-tent-16231965/3658333/?utm_source=Google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=Shopping&gad_source=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIr8SHsuX4hQMV8JhQBh1f8wVkEAQYASABEgIW6vD_BwE

I was going to suggest Decathlon too. I personally wouldn't have a pop up because I'd struggled to get it to fold up and back in the car. I've put up a pole tent more than once when the DC were little though.

Khyam Igloo

I've been camping in one of these for over twenty years. They are easy to pitch, sturdy and with good weather protection. Also plenty of room for one adult and one child.

Decathlon's pop ups are great and are very easy to take down when you've got the hang of it. There are videos of how to do it on their website. I have a 3 man pop up that had plenty of room for me, youngest child and the dog (lurcher so not small).
Decathlon also do pole tents with living areas so you have room to stand up and get changed etc. I have a 4 man one that I can put up and down easily with no help.

Yes Decathlon tents are brilliant

A 3 man tent is quite small though

You can't use blow up mattresses or fit any bags in

I'd go for a 5 or 6 man tent that you can stand up in

3 man literally means 3 people lying side by side with no room for anything else

StripeySoc · 06/05/2024 15:39

They're all pretty easy to put up tbh

What I mean actually is you can fit 2 blow up mattresses in a 3 man tent but not much else
