I'm a Brownie leader - we aren't ready for camping yet, but do do pack holidays.

I'm a Brownie leader, my parents met at university scout and guide club, I went on my first scout camp at 6wks, my brother had a change the baby's terry nappy competition done on him at around 6months! DS, 14months, loves Brownie meetings

Rainbows and Guides here! Started as a Brownie and never left. Ds, 14 months, comes to Rainbows and has been on a few Guide camps already.

I have been a Beaver Leader but am now the District Badge Secretary - my energy levels weren't up to the children. My eldest ds went to his first cub camp at 3 months and second ds went at 9 months. Dd had to wait until she was a brownie to camp but became a scout as she thought guides were wimps. She is now an Explorer.

Dh had his first warrant as an assistant scout master at 18 (he is now 61) and was a warranted leader for 35 years. He has just become the District Secretary.

I think we could be classed as having had some involvement with the Scout movement!

hahaha..yeah, just a few hours!!

mY two ds's have been scouting since my eldest started beavers. My youngest has 35 nights away already!!

I was lucky enough to go to the World Scout Jamboree last year..wow..that was camping!!

My Oh's a Scout Leader, I'm a Troop Assistant. Took Dd on her first camp at 9 months, and yes we did the nappy change challenge with the Scouts too! Can't wait till this year's Summer Camp as now she's walking we have a feeling we're not going to see her from sun-up till sun-down

Not jealous at all about the Jamboree. OH and I wanted to go and help but as they said no to babies and small children we couldn't.

Managed to cause some upset as Dd is the first girl on the Beavers' waiting list. Some Leaders don't seem to think girls should join Scouting

shrub77 · 20/04/2008 23:10

beaver leader

sorry, am on this thread by mistake due to intriguing title.

unknownrebelbang · 20/04/2008 23:45

Non-uniformed assistant at both beavers and cubs.

Help out on camps, but don't stay over.

I don't do beige.

Was at the jamboree last year for a day with our group and it was a fantastic experience.

DS1 did both the jamboree and the Brownsea celebration with his scout group.
